Jack Wagner took a deep dive into what’s driving Nick to return, and how he’s going to solve Brooke’s Ridge problem.

As The Bold and the Beautiful gears up to celebrate its return to Italy, fans are also eagerly looking forward to it. One of the main things that has viewers excited is the return of Jack Wagner as Nick Marone. The actor recently opened up about what changes he wanted for his character, and what that may mean for Brooke and Ridge.

A Toxic Pattern
Wagner sat down with Us Magazine and discussed his latest return to B&B. “Things had gotten a little Twisted Sister, with marrying the daughter [Bridget] and marrying the sister [Katie],” he stated, adding, “and so what I like about the return is that we’re focusing strictly on Nick’s love for Brooke.” Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is particularly vulnerable lately because she’s been desperately trying to win Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) back from Taylor (Rebecca Budig).

The actor explained that Nick learns of Brooke’s heartbreak, so the goal of his return is to try and “get her to awaken out of this toxic pattern she’s been in with him for so long, and to try to basically win her heart back.” He also stated that he enjoys working with Lang, who always brings her A-game to every scene.

His Goal is Clear
Wagner remarked that Nick has changed, now that he’s a shipping tycoon, and when he encounters Ridge, he regards the Forrester as nothing more than a fly. “I was able to just poke at Ridge over and over. I don’t think Thorsten [is] used to that and I don’t think Ridge is used to that,” he good-naturedly remarked. He liked Kaye’s sense of humor and remarked that they had great fun working together.

He was also allowed to make changes not only to his dialogue but also to the scene structures. As Nick tries to reconnect with Brooke, he makes his goal clear. Wagner even stated that there would be flashbacks which allow Brooke and Nick to, “Connect and retell their story in order to open, possibly, a new chapter.” (Find out if Nick’s son will also return.)
