The good news is that The Young and the Restless star Melissa Claire Egan, who plays Chelsea, may have a child prodigy on her hands when it comes to music. The bad news is that the song her son has composed the music and lyrics to doesnât necessarily paint Egan as the good person we all know her to be!
The Young and Restless, âMommy, Youâre Badâ
âHas it been a REALLLY LONG MONDAY FOR ANYONE ELSE?!?!!â the actress rhetorically asked in her reel that has her son, Caden, who is almost 4, performing. Caden can be heard off-screen, playing a musical instrument (the drums) and singing, âMommy is bad.â Yep, thatâs what heâs singing. âMommy is bad.â
The hilarious video shows a close-up of a smiling Egan as The Young and the Restless actress patiently listens to her son singing, âMommy is bad,â for approximately 90 seconds. âMommy is bad,â Egan mouths towards the end of the clip, just in case you hadnât heard!
The comments section, filled with responses from Eganâs pals, who are fellow moms, reveal that Eganâs experience is not uncommon and is also very relatable.
âThe joy of having boys đ,â wrote Christel Khalil (Lily), who has two sons. Amelia Heinle (Victoria), who also has two sons, shared, âHa!!â
Another mom, Karla Mosley (Dani, Beyond the Gates), wrote: âOh GIRL! Do I overstandâŚâ Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa, Days of our Lives), posted: âđđđđđđ oh the joys of motherhood. Love you â¤ď¸â¤ď¸.â
A year ago, on the occasion of Caden turning 3, The Young and the Restless star wrote on Instagram, âur baby boy is 3 today! Caden Katrosar, you (and your brother) bring the greatest joy we could ever imagine. You love leaf blowers, dancing, swimming, baseball, and still lots of guitar. I know you wonât read this for a while because I wonât let you have IG (or date) til youâre 40. But we love you sooooo very much. Happy Birthday, my baby!â
Follower @dianelyndon queried, âSo, Iâm wondering, who got him the drums? Lol.â Egan responded, âMeâ with a smiley face.
âAhhhâŚ.the joy of motherhood,â added Deeva329. âComing from the mother of a now 45-year-old son. NonethelessâŚI still remember days like this. Itâll be okayâŚpromise.â
âWait until they tell you to go to your room,â chuckled @paulette_goulet. âThatâs the best gift!!!â
âRhythms pretty good,â noted @hoffdl7. âVery catchy. Get used to it till after the teens. Just know we all love you and at some point this too shall pass!â
ââMommy, youâre badâ is going to be the number one song in the nation,â predicts @monstersteakllc, âyou just wait and see.â
