‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest that Billy Flynn, who’s coming over to Y&R from Days of Our Lives, may play the role of Cane Ashby (last played by Daniel Goddard).

Shockingly, Flynn decided to leave his beloved character, Chad DiMera, behind and head for Genoa City.

Lately, the name on everyone’s lips has been Aristotle Dumas. He’s a man of mystery who prefers to maintain his privacy, and he happens to be a very successful businessman.

It was thought that Flynn would be playing a new role. It is entirely possible it’s a fake-out, as soaps have done that before. They want to keep the audience on their toes and deliver the unexpected.

All signs point to a Cane recast as Dumas seems incredibly invested in the success of Chancellor-Winters. His attorney, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), admitted as much.

Amanda doesn’t seem like the type to deceive people, so it’s conceivable that the man behind the curtain is Cane.

It was mentioned that Dumas came onto the business scene six years ago. It just so happens that Cane left town in 2019.

It’s a breadcrumb that creates a lot of questions and speculation that whoever this elusive Mr. Dumas really is, he’s likely someone the Winters family is already acquainted with.

Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is also insistent on knowing exactly who this Dumas character is, and she plans to “draw him out from the shadows” and find out.

Of course, Lily and Cane were once married, and we could see the sudser capitalizing on Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) and Lily’s chemistry and Flynn’s natural charm, adding Cane to the mix to develop a highly lucrative love triangle.

Plus, Dumas is also supposedly helping Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) with his new company, Abbott Communications. However, considering their past rivalry, perhaps Mr. Dumas is stringing him along.

Or, perhaps Cane is aligning himself with one of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braden) numerous enemies and planning a move against the tycoon.

Prior to speculation that Flynn would be playing the role, Daniel Goddard may return to Y&R to play Cane once again. He posted a message on social media, saying that he had “big news.”

However, shortly after, Goddard confirmed that the major news was that he was joining the cast of General Hospital as Professor Henry Dalton.

Flynn will be a welcome addition to the soap as he is very talented. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s easy on the eyes!

It makes sense for Flynn to come onto the scene playing Dumas, as the buildup for the character has been significant. Also, not a peep has been mentioned about the character Flynn is set to portray.

That can only mean that Y&R has kept it hush-hush for a reason. They want to floor the audience with a big surprise.

Aristotle Dumas is obviously a cover name. We wouldn’t be one bit surprised if, when the time comes, Cane Ashby returns to Genoa City to stir up the pot, with Billy Flynn playing the role.
