Days of our Lives alum Lisa Rinna felt inspired by Kris and Kylie Jenner, who have been dropping the names of their plastic surgeons. Their candid confessions went viral on TikTok. Rinna is sharing the story behind her iconic lips.
How It All Began For Lisa’s Lips
On the latest episode of her podcast, Let’s Not Talk About the Husband, with her husband Harry Hamlin, Rinna wanted to shift the focus onto her plastic surgery procedures. She recalled the story of her first lip injection. At the time, they weren’t considered lip fillers, like they are today. Rather, they were called collagen injections.
Rinna and her friend wanted to get their lips done after they saw the movie, Beaches. “Barbara Hershey put collagen in her top lip, we thought it was the coolest thing ever,” the RHOBH alum said. She was only 24 years old at the time. Her friend referred her to a doctor who offered collagen injections. “We thought, ‘Well, that’s so cool, but wouldn’t it be better if you could have something that lasted forever?’” Rinna said.
They found another doctor who did silicone injections. They assumed the injections “would last forever,” but they had to keep coming back. “We had to go four times and have tiny little bits at a time,” Rinna explained. The ladies were so nervous that they “held each other’s hands” at each appointment.
Inspired By The Jenners
Rinna felt now was the time to reveal the story of her famous lips. Other celebrities, including Kylie and Kris Jenner, have opened up about their plastic surgery procedures. They even recommended their surgeons. “Kris Jenner came out, which I thought was very cool, and said who had just done her facelift because it’s phenomenal,” Rinna said.
During her conversation with her husband, Rinna also opened up about the breast implants she got after she gave birth to her daughters, Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray. “They were done to my knees. I wanted to get my mojo back,” she explained. However, saline implants were too large and painful.
The former soap star eventually swapped out her silicone implants. “I had the smallest ones put in… 180s,” she said. Hamlin didn’t care either way. “You said, ‘I’m not a boob man and I don’t care,’ which was lovely,” Rinna noted.
