The Buckinghams’ curse won’t let up. It’s haunting Hope and Liam once again on The Bold and the Beautiful. Even though Grace divorced Reese, she can’t seem to step out of his shadow and be her own person. Is she as guilty as he? Or is she one of his victims?

Is Grace A Spitting Image Of Her Ex?
Reese (Wayne Brady) was a shady doctor who constantly owed gambling debts due to his addiction. Grace (Cassandra Creech) confessed to Finn (Tanner Novlan) that the guys he owed were threatening her and her daughters. She needed a million dollars to pay them off, so they could leave her family alone.
Even though they’re divorced, Reese is still causing her heartache. It’s as if Grace is required to clean up his messes. Over at one soap opera message board, B&B fans wondered whether Grace was a scam artist like her ex-husband. Or maybe she can’t escape the Buckinghams’ curse, which is why she can’t escape his shadow.
The original poster asked, “If Grace pretended that Liam had a brain tumor, then she is no better than Reese, her ex-husband. Grace should lose her doctor’s license.😳 🤔” Grace admitted that Liam (Scott Clifton) didn’t have a tumor all this time. She faked the results so she could scam him and his father out of money. She knew exactly where to go.
Can Grace Be Redeemed?
There’s no doubt that what Grace did to Liam and Bill (Don Diamont) was uncalled for. She made Liam’s family think he was dying. She also conned Bill out of a million dollars. That’s nothing for him to sneeze at, but it’s still a lot to lose. However, most fans argued that Grace shouldn’t be lumped in with Reese.
“She is not like him. He had a gambling problem and stole Beth to pay his gambling debt,” one person wrote. “Reese stole a baby and told the parents the baby died. Not the same thing,” another person noted.
Yet, other fans think Grace shouldn’t get a redemption arc since she made Liam take prescription drugs. “No justification for Grace and Liam BETTER be taking a placebo, because if he’s actually taking cancer drugs she should have added that to her list of charges: theft by deception, wire fraud, etc,” a third person wrote.
“Grace did not care what her actions did to Liam and his family. Neither Buckingham should ever work as a doctor again, since they abuse their power (and the patients’ trust) and harm their patients,” someone else argued. Grace and Reese share kids, so they’ll never leave each other’s orbit. But Grace needs to stand up to Reese, for once and for all, and let him know that she can’t keep fixing his messes. And she shouldn’t tolerate threats against their family.
