“It was nice while it lasted,” Melanie says with a sigh. “Being the clinical lead gave Siobhan responsibility, but no extra kudos—she was doing four times the work without the additional pay. That’s the reality for nurses sometimes, though. Siobhan’s role wasn’t permanent, but it was a great opportunity for her to step into the management side of things, liaising between higher-ups and her team. It gave her depth and more responsibility, but now it’s time for Flynn to step in.”

Fans have watched as Siobhan worked tirelessly to keep the team together during some of Holby’s most trying moments, but now, with Flynn taking over her role, she can breathe a little easier. Still, Melanie admits she enjoyed the challenges Siobhan faced in that temporary position. “It was nice to play someone with that much responsibility, but I’m excited to see how things unfold with Flynn stepping in.”
