The Young and the Restless cast is like family. Working closely daily for years, castmates form a bond. So when Conner Floyd recently departed the show, his friend and co-star Michelle Stafford penned a sweet tribute to him.
’Joy To Work With’
After four years on Y&R, Floyd is leaving to embark on his new role as Chad on Days of Our Lives. Fans knew the actor’s exit was imminent, but they didn’t expect it so soon.
On July 28th, Floyd’s last appearance as Chance aired with the Genoa City detective suffering a tragic ending. Chance was killed after Cane’s (Billy Flynn) assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba), shot him.
Now that Floyd and his character’s fate have been revealed, fans and co-stars are bidding goodbye to the actor.
On Instagram, Stafford posted a tribute to Floyd, featuring behind-the-scenes outtakes of her co-star. “A little #BTS of @connergfloyd,” Stafford wrote. “Possibly his best moments…🤣Dude! You were a JOY to work with! #DAYS’s gain is our loss 😭GO KILL! I know you will!”
Floyd commented on Stafford’s touching post, “I just got PTSD thinking about that health shot from Erewhon. I miss you already. It was an honor. Chance always loved Phyllis deep down ❤️.”
Floyd’s exit leaves a big void on Y&R since it also appears to be the end for Chance. While fans are left wondering if they’ve really seen the last of Chance, Floyd is prepping for Days.
In June, DAYS announced that Floyd would be taking over the role of Chad. The announcement came just days after former Chad actor Flynn debuted as the new Cane on Y&R. Flynn showed there’s no hard feelings as he gave his blessing to Floyd taking over his former Days role.
Although Floyd won’t make his debut until April 2026, he already his fans and co-stars cheering him on.
