The Bradys learn that Bo is dying.
In the Monday, April 28 episode of Days of Our Lives, Johnny DiMera hashed out his feelings about the adoption with Marlena, who returned from Estonia with Steve. He said the last two weeks changed everything. While Chanel was beyond excited about the adoption, Johnny was the opposite. Meanwhile, Tate asked Sophia to the prom, and the Bradys found out that Bo was dying. This caused Shawn to spiral.
It’s Not Your Fault, Shawn
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) called Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and told him Bo (Peter Reckell) had taken a turn for the worse. He was dying, and hearing those words sent Shawn right back to the days when he continually blamed himself. Thankfully, he didn’t express an urge to drink and spiral in that way. Not yet, anyway.
Maybe it had to do with the fact that Jada (Elia Cantu) was right there comforting him. She could somewhat relate to Shawn. Her amazing dad, Dr. Marcus Hunter (the late Richard Biggs), died years ago, but she was able to be there right by his side. She listened to Shawn as he told her a story about Bo from when he was a kid, and talked about how Bo was the best dad.

Kayla May Have a Solution
Hope also called Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), who was sitting at The Brady Pub with Roman (Josh Taylor) when she found out the news. Of course, the two of them felt helpless. They passed the news to Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) when they walked in and joined them.
So Bo contracted a nasty infection from the ventilator, and the doctors are trying to contain it, but they’re not having much success right now. In fact, the infection spread, and Bo has sepsis, a life-threatening inflammatory response that happens when a body overreacts to an infection. It can cause tissue damage, organ failure, and death.
The hospital must have some good funding because Kayla revealed that one of the doctors at Salem University Hospital is developing a drug that could effectively stop the multi-organ failure that sepsis can cause.
The problem is that it’s in the first stage of development and hasn’t entered human trials yet. So, the scientist, Dr. Russell, may not be willing to play because the project is not yet in the approval stage.

Looking Forward
In the DAYS weekly video preview, we learned that Dr. Russell (Michael Dietz) says his hands are tied. He can’t let them use the drug he’s developing on Bo. So Shawn decides to take drastic action. He tries to convince Steve to help him steal it.
Will Shawn abandon his cop morals to save his dad? You bet that’s something he would do. He feels so very guilty for being the one to put his dad in that coma. He will go to the ends of the earth to bring him back to his family.
