On the July 31 episode of The Young and the Restless, Victor made it obvious that his hatred for Claire dating Kyle had passed ridiculous and swept into irrational. It’s especially silly considering that, just a few months ago, Kyle was married to Victor’s other granddaughter, Summer. Now, we know that he hates Phyllis, but does that mean her daughter is less deserving of protection than Victoria’s? Because Victor certainly never foamed at the mouth like this over Summer. He has clearly gone out of his mind – even more than usual. So how far will he go to keep them apart?

Victor’s On The Edge

Kyle (Michael Mealor) was his usual smug, smirky self when he taunted Audra (Zuleyka Silver) in the park about how she failed to seduce him, so now Victor (Eric Braeden) won’t give her the money to start her cosmetics company. But if Victor was willing to hire someone to sleep with Kyle in order to break up him and Claire (Hayley Erin), why wouldn’t he just lie about it and claim it happened, anyway?

Will The Great Victor Newman Resort to Lying?

What if Victor tells Claire that Kyle slept with Audra? And what if Audra backs him up? Who will Claire believe? Especially after Victor makes it clear that not believing him is exactly the same to stabbing him in the heart, twisting the dagger, spitting in his face, and dancing on his grave? Only, you know, more dramatic.

The Victor we know and hate would have absolutely no qualms about telling a girl who was horribly psychologically abused by a deranged aunt all of her life and who only wanted a family to love her that, if she chooses to believe her awful, terrible, no-good boyfriend over her a saint of grandfather, that such a betrayal will mean an end to his love. Now, who did you say you were going to believe, Claire?
