If you aren’t listening to Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart’s new podcast, Soapy, you should be. Soapy has only dropped four episodes, and the podcast is already a must-listen for us. Rikaart and Budig are the reason for that. These two soap icons bring experience, perspective, and hilarious banter to the podcast.

Live, Laugh, Love, Get Soapy
On an Instagram promoting her appearance on Soapy, The Young and the Restless star Lauralee Bell (Christine) said in the comments section that the two hosts had “bestie banter,” and she’s right. The dynamic between Budig (Taylor, The Bold and the Beautiful) and Rikaart (Leo, Days of our Lives; Kevin, Y&R) is off the charts. They have been friends for over 20 years and were even neighbors at one point.
It’s crystal clear they have a deep love for each other, which is evident in their laughter and Rikaart cracking a few jokes about his co-host’s expense. Rikaart and Budig will make you laugh out loud, which, let’s be honest, is something we can all use a little more of these days. Budig and Rikaart are clearly enjoying their jobs as hosts. Each week, fans learn something new about the hosts, but you will have to listen to Soapy to find out what we are talking about.
Soapy Is Where It’s At
Aside from their witty banter that keeps fans entertained, Rikaart and Budig also give fans what they want: the insider scoop on the soap world. From their own personal stories to their weekly guests’ stories, Soapy gets all the juicy information fans want.
The way the two hosts interact with their guests shows that they are just as in love with the soap world as we are. Rikaart said as much on the show, admitting it’s a “love fest for the genre.” His words perfectly describe Soapy and explain why soap fans should check out the podcast.
So far, their podcast has featured Eric Braeden (Y&R), Deidre Hall (Marlena, DAYS), Beyond the Gates showrunner Sheila Ducksworth, and Bell. Next up is Maurice Benard (Sonny, General Hospital). You can listen to Soapy wherever you get your podcasts or watch on the CBS YouTube Channel.
