General Hospital star Rena Sofer is making a major move. She’s saying goodbye to Los Angeles. The actress posted an emotional message on social media that has fans wondering about her status with the ABC soap.

Major Life Update

In a recent Instagram post, Rena shared a clip of herself and her husband, Sanford Bookstaver. The couple is making a move. Words flashed across the video which read, “Goodbye LA!!!!!! It wouldn’t be LA if we weren’t interrupted by a leaf blower!!!”

“Bye, Hollywood,” Sofer said. “Off to New York,” her husband added. Then, Sofer broke out into song. In her lengthy caption, she wrote, “We’ve been in LA for almost 35 years, and now it’s time for me and [Sanford Bookstaver] to go. No one better than Billy Joel to create the perfect soundtrack to our dreams!”

Los Angeles holds many memories for them. It’s where they met, got married, and raised children. Sofer also added, “I had amazing success in the Business and made all my lifelong friends, who I will miss desperately. Most of all, my BFF [Arina Cabral] and my Brother [David Sofer] !!!”

Closing A Chapter

The GH star thanked Los Angeles simply “for being you.” She hopes they will embark on “quieter and calmer times.” Of course, a leaf blower interrupted the two during their goodbye. Sofer concluded her post by writing, “Now we are off in our [Rivian] with our 5 dogs in the back to our new life!!! #saygoodbyetohollywood”

Fans noticed the irony in Sofer and Staver’s move to New York for a quieter and calmer way of life. Most of them wished Sofer and Staver luck on their move. Other fans took guesses on where they’ll live next. “The Hamptons, I’m guessing, 😍😀” one person wrote, to which Sofer responded, “Ha. Nope.”
