General Hospital alum Adam Huss recently took to social media to open up about being a soap actor and thank the fans who always welcome him back.

Where Is Nikolas?
Huss first appeared in Port Charles in 2021 when he temporarily filled in for Marcus Coloma as Nikolas. Huss popped back in the role a couple more times before officially taking on the character from 2023-2024. Huss’ Nikolas was last seen in 2024 when Laura (Genie Francis) visited her son in Pentonville to break the news that he wasn’t eligible to donate his liver to his dying sister.
Nikolas may be absent from GH, but many fans just got the pleasure of seeing Huss live at the annual General Hospital Fan Club Weekend. Huss took to Instagram right after his fan event with nothing but gratitude for his soap fans, and even touched on what it’s like stepping into the shoes of an established soap character.
“The soap world can be a really interesting space to navigate. You get this great opportunity to step in and play really layered characters with performers at the top of their game, some of whom are soap royalty who’ve been doing this for decades. And you have to show up, step up and rise to the occasion. Whether you’re playing a new character or taking over an epic character like #nikolascassadine, you have to do what you do best without thinking about what others may think WHILE hoping the audience embraces you and your choices.”
Along with a candid video, Huss continued, “This journey playing this character in particular has been an interesting one. A beloved character played by beloved actors, and a rabid fan base that just wants you to fit into this world of @generalhospitalabc that they love so much because they’ve watched it with their grandma or mom since they were a kid. And it can go either way. And it’s usually polarizing no matter what. You can do your best work, serve the story well and not necessarily have an inkling of where you stand in coming back or playing that character again. But then you go out and meet the fans – and they make you know that what you did pour your heart and soul into mattered. They did care. They do root for you. They do value you. And I felt that so BIG tonight thanks to all the lovely humans at the @officialghfc #ghfan event this evening.”
Huss concluded with, “We have to know our own worth and our value on the inside, yes, but it’s also nice to hear it from the mouths of the people that are so passionate about this show and genre for a role that I have been so passionate about playing, that I made an impact. So I thank you for organizing these events Olga, Debbie and crew and I thank the fans for showing up! Grateful guy here tonight!”
