General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Friday, May 23, hint that more explosions are on the horizon as the 2025 Nurses Ball wraps up.
The final performances are set to hit the stage, but it looks as if everyone will be more preoccupied with the Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri bombshell that was dropped during the Thursday, May 22 episode.
As some fans may know by now, Gio heard Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) announce that his entire life had been a lie to Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer).
Gio was looking for his earpiece when he attempted to walk into the dressing room to find it from Lois.
Still, before he fully entered, he heard Lulu shout that Brook Lynn Quartermaine-Chase (Amanda Setton) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) were Gio’s parents, and he was adopted.
Lulu then threatened Lois to tell Dante today, or she’d tell him tomorrow.
Gio, who was visibly upset, got on stage and began playing his tango number, as Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) started to dance, but then he stopped.
He announced to the crowd that he was going to do something he’d never done before.
This is when he stated that this number was dedicated to his parents, Brooklyn and Dante, the ones who never wanted him and gave him up for adoption.
He then proceeded to smash his violin on stage, much to the shock of the audience, and then ran out of the event.
Now it looks like Friday’s show will be dedicated to the Gio bombshell aftermath.
A clip is shown from tomorrow’s show, of Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) crying while Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) looks upset, as Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) states that Lois has to know something.
Meanwhile, the GH preview also shows Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) advising Lulu to, “Get off the track before you get levelled”.
Lulu is freaking out, and who could blame her – she’s the one who triggered this drama!
Speaking of Carly, she’ll be presented with an intriguing offer, so what could this be about?
Meanwhile, Carly may be over the moon by the end of Friday’s show, as the Michael Corinthos recast, Rory Gibson, is set to debut.
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will receive a mysterious phone call, and it sounds like Michael may need some assistance getting to the Nurses Ball and announcing his comeback to Port Charles.
Meanwhile, the GH preview also shows Willow Tait-Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) talking to someone unknown (in a tux), as she states, “I want to end this terrible fight over the kids.”
Will she and Michael share a reunion on Friday’s show, or is Willow chatting with someone else?
In other Nurses Ball news, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) will have some anxiety as she gets ready for her performance.
In fact, during the GH preview for the May 23 episode, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) is shown asking Trina and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) why they aren’t in their costumes.
Considering the hurt their friend Gio is feeling, they may not be in the mood to perform; however, the show must go on!
In non-Nurses Ball news, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) will be watching the show on the couch when someone unexpectedly arrives to surprise her.
Will it be Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) or possibly Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst)?
Lastly, GH spoilers note that Mac Scorpio (John J. York) will breathe easier, so does that mean he’ll get Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliott) out of his hair?
Tracy is seen during the GH preview demanding that someone get her out there (she’s still at the PCPD!)
General Hospital spoilers imply there’s a chance Tracy may have gotten a Gio update, and the woman will be desperate to get to her family, and her granddaughter, Brook Lynn to understand fully what’s going on.
