Y&R put a lot of focus on the Aristotle Dumas story. After months of teasing, his identity was finally revealed during a party in France. It turns out that Cane (Billy Flynn) was the mysterious businessman.

Many fans suspected Cane or a former character was Dumas. Their hunch was proven with Cane’s grand reveal. The climax of the Dumas storyline has garnered mixed reactions among fans.

On Reddit, some fans believe the story should’ve been used to introduce a new dynasty.

“Instead of bringing back Cane, The Young and the Restless should’ve made Aristotle Dumas a whole new character-and built an entire family around him. Not just a one-off guy. I’m talking about a full-on Dumas dynasty that could actually rival The Newmans,” one fan suggested.

“I honestly thought that was the plan but I don’t think your idea ever entered their minds. There are so many great examples from soap operas past, with the intro of a new family changing the landscape, I can’t grasp why Y&R won’t do it,” another fan replied.

“Agree missed opportunity,” one viewer wrote.

Unfortunately, no new characters or family was added, much to the fans’ disappointment. But Cane is back and ready to start his own dynasty.

Now that he’s a top businessman, he’s ready to take on Genoa City’s elite. But will his ex-wife Lily (Christel Khalil) be by his side? Or will Cane find another woman to build a new dynasty with?
