Just when it looked like wedding bells were about to ring in Walford, disaster strikes as a joyous celebration turns into tragedy in a shocking chain of events.
It all starts when Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) finds himself in serious trouble. Mike suddenly appears and demands £5,000 to keep the Branning family safe, and Oscar is pushed to breaking point. Desperate for money, he turns to Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) with a shady business idea, but when Ian refuses to play along, Oscar has no choice but to come clean to Lauren.
But the situation spirals further when Oscar takes drastic action, breaking into No.20 to steal £6,000 in betting winnings from Patrick. Patrick catches him in the act, and during the confrontation, Oscar panics and pushes him. Patrick falls to the floor, unconscious.

Earlier that day, Patrick and Howie had secretly placed a bet against Yolande’s wishes and won big. But the celebration is short-lived. When Howie admits he overheard Kim criticising his finances, tensions boil over. Yolande is furious at Patrick for gambling behind her back and heartbreakingly calls off their wedding.
With emotions running high, the family heads to The Vic completely unaware of the horror waiting at home.
Meanwhile, Oscar hides before fleeing the scene, leaving Patrick lying motionless. Later, Kim and Denise return from the pub, only to be met with a devastating sight. The family rushes Patrick to the hospital, with Yolande beside herself with worry.

As the shocking news spreads, Lauren begins to suspect Oscar isn’t telling the full truth. She intercepts him as he tries to leave Walford and finds him with the stolen cash.
Back at the hospital, Yolande, Kim, and Denise anxiously await updates on Patrick’s condition. But just when things couldn’t get worse, the police arrive asking Howie for a witness statement.
