EastEnders has aired a surprising passionate twist for George Knight following his split from Elaine.
In tonight’s scenes, Harry Mitchell enlisted the help of his mum Nicola to try and distract George.
Harry needed to get rid of George for the day, as he’d agreed to let newcomer Okie use the flat to conduct his drug dealing business there. After ending things with Elaine, George has been crashing at his brother Kojo’s flat, which he shares with Harry.
Knowing George was looking for a new gig following the sale of The Vic, Harry told him Nicola was looking for a bar manager at Harry’s Barn.
“I’d better strike while the iron’s hot,” George said before heading out with a spring in his step.
After he left, Harry called Nicola, asking her for help to keep George away.
At Harry’s Barn, things got awkward when Nicola said she was looking for a bouncer, not a bar manager like Harry had told George.
As George was about to leave, Nicola got a text from her son, begging her to keep him there.
Nicola tried to charm George by levelling with him, sharing her personal woes and asking him to join her for a drink… and then another.
“Come on, what’s the point of having a midlife crisis if we can’t enjoy it?” Nicola said cheekily.
The pair talked about their relationships with their kids, with Nicola pressing George to get some dirt on Elaine. When George wouldn’t budge, Nicola said his approach was “refreshing” and perfect for the bouncer job.
“I don’t want some thug working my door. I want someone with good judgement, someone who can keep their head,” Nicola said, hoping that a little flattery would go a long way.
George said he should go, but Nicola insisted he stay, saying the things he shouldn’t do were “a lot more fun”.
She got up and went over to George, kissing him passionately. As the two moved the action onto Nicola’s office sofa, she received a text from Harry, saying the coast was clear.

Unfazed, Nicola put the phone down and kissed George again as she removed his clothes. Is this a one-afternoon-stand or the start of something new for George and Nicola?
