Did General Hospital Just Tease Morgan’s Return?

Key Takeaways:

  • The article speculates that the recent, frequent mentions of Morgan Corinthos could signal his return to the show.
  • It recounts the troubled history of Morgan, the son of Carly and Sonny, and his connection to the Quartermaine family.
  • The article draws a parallel between Carly‘s past decisions regarding her children’s safety and her current conflict with Willow and Drew over the custody of Wiley and Amelia.
  • The piece suggests that a potential return for Morgan could force Carly to confront the damage that Sonny’s lifestyle has caused their family.General Hospital Morgan.

General Hospital tends to go in waves. They can spend months not remembering that Carly and Sonny only had one biological son together, and his name was Morgan (after Jason, natch). And then we can get multiple references to Morgan within the week, sometimes even in the same episode. We’re in the latter part now. Which makes us think the show is trying to tell us something about a beloved scion about to return.

Morgan (Bryan Craig) was born on the air. Sonny (Maurice Benard) shot Carly (then-Tamara Braun) while she was in labor. Because he thought she was cheating on him with Ric (Rick Hearst). Then, when Morgan was a pre-teen, Carly (now Laura Wright) had her then husband, Jax (Ingo Rademacher), adopt Morgan after Michael (Rory Gibson) was shot in the head and put into a coma (don’t worry, he recovered; being shot in the head is apparently not nearly as lethal as the American Medical Association would like us to believe), so that Sonny’s enemies wouldn’t go after Morgan, too. (Because mobsters are known for their nuances when it comes to whom they’re going to attack.)

However, don’t you dare suggest to Carly that her choice of on-and-off marriages to Sonny puts her children in danger. She hates that. How dare you? HOW DARE YOU? Carly would never, ever, EVER do anything to hurt her precious children.

That’s why she needs Wylie and Amelia away from Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). Willow is with Drew (Cameron Mathison). And Drew is a danger to the children! They are much safer with Michael. Who is Sonny’s son, so he is always being looked after?

Since we’ve been hearing so much about Morgan lately, what if he isn’t really dead? What if he returns? And what if, then, Carly can no longer deny the damage Sonny has done to his beloved family? (Oh, who are we kidding. That will never happen….)
