Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Tate Black (Leo Howard) recently came down with a mystery illness, so DOOL fans are wondering what’s wrong and if it’s serious. Let’s discuss what happened in Days’ May 15 episode and how it could affect Tate’s storyline moving forward.
Since Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) is on modified bed rest, she has to take it easy and can’t do any extracurricular activities.
Sophia was bummed over the news that she couldn’t go to prom, which happened to fall on the same night as her birthday.
Tate still wanted to do something special for Sophia, so he threw her a little party for two – complete with decorations, a special dinner and a birthday cake.
However, Tate became queasy after eating and eventually got so dizzy that he had to sit down.
After Sophia realized Tate was burning up, he took his temperature and realized he indeed had a high fever.
Tate apologized for ruining the fun and having to cut the party short, but Sophia was mostly just worried about whether he was OK.
Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) previously warned Tate about leading Sophia on since she might still have feelings for him, but these Days scenes didn’t play like Tate was faking his illness to wrap up their night.
Plus, Marlena just got through gushing over Tate maturing due to this whole pregnancy situation with Sophia.
It’d go against that if Tate did something as childish as pretending he was sick to stop the birthday bash he set in motion.
Tate seemed genuinely ill, especially since he was warm to the touch and read off his temperature to Sophia after getting out a thermometer.
Assuming that Tate really has come down with something, could it be more serious than he thinks?
It’s possible this could lead to a hospital crisis for Tate if he gets worse.
That’d be a quick way to remind Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) of just how much she loves Tate.
The thought of losing Tate would be unbearable to Holly and could make her forget about Doug Williams III (Peyton Meyer) in a hurry!
Of course, Sophia will want to be the one by Tate’s side if a full-blown medical crisis happens.
You can bet that when Sophia blew out her birthday candles, her wish involved a future with Tate and potentially their baby, too.
There may be some concerns about that future if Tate’s illness gets worse, but it’s also possible he’s just got a bit of a bug that’ll be gone in a day or two.
It’s too early to say at this point, but it’s always worth talking about when a Days character gets sick out of nowhere.
