The new head writers are no joke. It’s Day 2 of the new regime, and drama is happening quickly. On the Friday, April 25 episode of Days of Our Lives, Gabi and Brady had words now that Gabi Chic and Basic Black are under the same umbrella. It’s been a minute since they chatted. But the biggest news has to be that Belle and EJ want to be together. Rafe and Jada are over. And Johnny doesn’t want to sign the adoption papers.
A Better Man?
Belle (Martha Madison) admitted to EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) that she loved him. She also said she’s tried to fight her feelings for him, but can’t. He’s in her head and heart. EJ told Belle that she was in his head and heart. He wanted to be a better man and hoped she could help him.
Here’s the thing: EJ’s new attitude is beyond suspicious because it’s unclear how much he remembers about the night someone shot him. By the end of Friday’s episode, it became clear that he had discovered the camera Rafe (Galen Gering) planted and had taken the memory card. So, the spycam didn’t capture the shooting after all. However, what did it catch? Anything else incriminating?
A Break Up
Meanwhile, Jada (Elia Cantu) called Rafe into the precinct, aka “neutral territory,” to discuss their next move. Jada ended things by saying the trust was broken. She also mentioned how they were on shaky ground before the Feniger drama. When Paulina (Jackée Harry) named her police chief, things started to go wrong.
And Rafe realized that too much had happened, although it didn’t seem like he wanted to break things off. Rafe did say that maybe it’s best that they take a break…for now. For now, means there’s hope down the line, right?
What was super interesting is that, in addition, Rafe told Jada that when Steve (Stephen Nichols) gets back to Salem, he was resigning from Black Patch and taking an out-of-town FBI gig. What does this mean? Is Rafe leaving town?
Adoption Drama
Elsewhere, Johnny (Carson Boatman), discovering how he was conceived, continued to mess with his head to the point that he no longer felt ready to become a dad. Unfortunately, an ecstatic Chanel (Raven Bowens) couldn’t read the room. Johnny tried to force joy and a smile on his face; he wasn’t feeling it. She felt enough for both of them, however.
When Belle stopped by with the adoption document for him to sign, he told her what was happening with him. Ultimately, he couldn’t add his signature to the contract. This will be another devastating blow to Chanel, but Johnny’s not just worried about the dad he will be. He also had a flashback to grabbing Roman’s (Josh Taylor) gun from The Brady Pub. Should we be reading into this? Is he feeling guilty?
What did you think of Belle and EJ, Jada and Rafe, Johnny and the adoption, and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Brady (Eric Martsolf)? Also, the cliffhanger featured Shawn (Brandon Beemer) getting a call from Hope (Kristian Alfonso), who needed to tell him bad news about Bo (Peter Reckell). Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
