Amidst the drama of miracle drugs and adoption agony, once in a while, Days of our Lives will throw in some comedic relief. Last week, it was in the form of Salem’s most hated dressed as Disney’s dumbest.
A Golden Afternoon
EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) has been the center of a major DAYS storyline after his whodunnit shooting left Salem with more questions than answers. Half the town is a suspect, EJ has been left with PTSD, and the crime is still unsolved (although JJ (Casey Moss) is working his badge with it).
But on the May 12 episode of the Peacock sudser, the drama was (mostly) set aside to celebrate Rachel’s (Alice Halsey) birthday. It was Alice in Wonderland themed, and because she’s not so popular among the kids at school, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) came together to throw her a very merry not-so-unbirthday.
What they didn’t anticipate was for EJ and Belle (Martha Madison) to be home. While Belle couldn’t stay for the festivities, EJ was happy to take a seat at the tea party for his niece. With Rachel as the Queen of Hearts, Kristen as Alice, and Brady as the Mad Hatter, that only left one hysterical character for EJ: Tweedledum.
Seeing EJ DiMera at a tea party donning a striped cap with a propeller was a moment any one of his enemies would have loved to capture. In fact, plastering that across the front page of The Spectator would have been better revenge than getting shot.
Even viewers on X (formerly Twitter) shared their amusement for the costume. “EJ makes a perfect tweedledee/tweedledum,” one DAYS fan concluded, while another had to wonder, “Is EJ supposed to be Tweedledee or Tweedledum?
