A distraught Natalia collapsed after downing pills and Kristina was trapped by flames on the June 30 episode of General Hospital!

As Michael (Rory Gibson) and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) celebrated Daisy’s christening with their families and friends, Natalia (Eva LaRue) was growing increasingly desperate, despondent and self-destructive on the June 30 episode of General Hospital. Meanwhile, Kristina (Kate Mansi) was quite literally in the line of fire when someone threw a Molotov cocktail into Charlie’s, trapping her inside. Read on to find out how it all went down!

Goin’ To The Chapel
At the church, Sasha and Michael’s loved ones gathered for baby Daisy’s christening. A very much uninvited Natalia strode in and took a seat in an empty pew. “What the hell is Natalia doing here?” Carly snarked to Sonny. “Did you invite her?” Gazing intently at the interloper, Sonny said he would handle it and crossed over to Natalia, directing her to follow him out for a private chat. Watching them leave, Jason assured Carly that Sonny would take care of the situation.

A beaming Sasha entered, holding Daisy, as Josslyn and Wiley trailed in behind her. Sasha and Michael smiled warmly at each other.

Outside, a distressed Natalia demanded an explanation from Sonny as to why he had pulled out of the plan to join her in Belize. “Now I’m going alone?” she cried. “I’m setting you up with a new life, where you’re going to be comfortable,” Sonny detailed. “And I can monitor your safety.” Natalia protested, upset that Sonny was reneging on his offer to help her get settled in South America and accusing him of dumping her in a foreign country. “You said you wouldn’t abandon me,” she said, her eyes watering. “My life is here,” Sonny declared in a low tone.

Back inside the church, Wiley asked Michael if they were waiting for his mommy. “Mommy’s not coming today,” Michael replied. Meanwhile, Brook Lynn tried to get Chase to tell her what he knew about Natalia’s situation, worried about Sonny’s second investment in Deception “not being entirely clean,” info that Natalia had relayed to her. He maintained that he couldn’t discuss police business with her.

Natalia grew louder and more anguished, and Sonny tried to calm her down by assuring her that he had set her up in a beautiful area with access to anything she needed. “Except connections,” she corrected him. “Except friends and family!” “You can make friends,” he countered. Dissolving into tears, Natalia admitted that she had thought this would be an opportunity for the two of them to start “a life together.” “That can’t happen. It can’t,” Sonny declared. Kristina opened the door to let Sonny know that Father Reyes was about to start the service. Sonny told his daughter he would be there in a minute. Once Kristina was out of earshot, Sonny ordered one of his bodyguards to take Natalia back to her hotel and make sure she got on her flight.

As Natalia was led away, she turned back to Sonny. “Felicitations on your granddaughter’s christening,” she hissed. “May you and your family get every blessing you deserve.” Sonny came back inside and everyone turned to look at him. The christening got underway, with Jason and Felicia officially becoming Daisy Celeste’s godparents.

Post-christening, Carly got Sonny alone to ask what was going on with Natalia. “It’s all taken care of,” Sonny told her. Kristina tried to get the scoop on the Natalia situation from Jason, who deflected her inquiry. Chase stepped away to phone ADA Turner, reporting that Natalia had just been at the church, and had left after a private chat with Sonny. He hung up and discovered that Brook Lynn had been listening in. “Chase, what did you just do?” Brook Lynn wondered, clearly upset. Chase reminded her that from the beginning of their relationship, she’d been aware that his work might touch on people she cares about, “and if that happens, we put up a wall between my work and our personal life.” Brook Lynn assured him that she respected that boundary — she just didn’t like it. Chase excused himself, saying he had to go to work.

The End Is Near?
A testy Natalia arrived at her hotel room and tried to ditch Sonny’s minion, snapping that she needed to pack and take a shower. “I’ll be right outside,” he cautioned. Natalia closed the door behind him, surveyed the empty room and began to hyperventilate. She crossed over to the dresser and found a bottle of pills, which she washed down with liquor.

Presumably showered and now wearing a robe, Natalia began to pack halfheartedly, her eyes landing on the still-open pill bottle. She popped more meds and slugged more alcohol. Growing woozier by the minute, she flashed back to her conversation with Sidwell in which he said she was to blame for her estrangement from her son “by refusing to accept Marco for who he is,” then to her last chat with Sonny and her tense talk with Marco, who had told her that if she walked out, she would no longer be his client or his mother (“You will officially be nothing to me!”). Natalia reached for her phone and began composing a text.

At Carly’s, Marco prepared dinner for himself and Lucas. He explained that his kitchen skills came from his mom, that cooking was something they loved to do together when he was young. “Before it all went wrong,” he sighed. Once the food was ready, they shared a romantic meal together — and a tender kiss.

check it. “It’s my mom,” Marco reported. “It’s gibberish. She’s probably drunk.” Marco added that this was not a rare occurrence. “When she’s drunk, her guilt takes over and runs the show.” Concerned, Lucas pointed out that Natalia was supposed to be leaving the country to flee a potential prison sentence.

Natalia stared at her phone, dejected that Marco hadn’t responded. A knock on the door reminded her that she was expected to be heading out soon. “Okay, I’m almost ready,” she mustered. She began to weep again and sent another text to her son. Her attempt to type “I’m sorry” came out as “I’m someone.” On the receiving end, Lucas and Marco tried to make sense of the message. “I told you,” sighed Marco. “Word salad.” His empathy for Natalia clear, Lucas reminded Marco that with Natalia poised to leave the country, there was no guarantee that she would be able to reach out to him again. “This might be the last chance you have to reach back.”At Charlie’s, a masked saboteur slipped into the bar, doused the place with a flammable liquid with a force that knocked over a framed photo of Sonny and Kristina. When Kristina arrived, she realized just a little too late that something was very wrong. A fiery Molotov cocktail came crashing through the window, engulfing the place in flames — and trapping Kristina inside.

Where There’s Smoke
The christening guests convened back at the Quartermaine mansion for a reception, and Brook Lynn left a voicemail for Chase, expressing her worry over Sonny and Natalia. When Kristina arrived, she pumped Sonny for information about Natalia’s presence at the chapel. Sonny was evasive, and when Michael joined them, he voiced how proud he was of both Michael and Kristina. “I’m proud of you too, Dad,” Michael beamed. Kristina got a text calling her back to Charlie’s, as her manager called out sick.

Celebrants at the mansion were shown happily raising a glass to toast Daisy. The action then cut to Natalia, stumbling around her hotel room as her drinking binge continued, the pill bottle now empty. She grabbed her phone again, seeing that Marco had still not texted her back. She made her way to the sofa, where she promptly crumpled over and passed out, her phone dropping out of her hand to the floor. Just then, a text from Marco came through: “I’m on my way.”
