Well, the actor took to his Twitter account this past week and wrote, “I guess I should do an interview with a trusted publication to explain what went down.”

Needless to say, Soap Twitter went off as many fans couldn’t help but wonder exactly what Doug meant by that.

Many of them commented on the situation with, “It is true. You are inundated with questions, Paul’s absence makes no narrative sense, and fans are left to fill in the blanks (brewing a million conspiracy theories).

Perhaps an honest interview would free you and your fanbase,” along with, “Please do. You were sorely missed in the 50th celebration episodes. You are a vital part of the show’s history and we would love to hear what happened.”

Another fan wrote, “If there’s a story to be told and any misconceptions or gossip needs to be cleared up then I definitely think an interview with a trusted publication or website needs to happen. There’s always two side to every story, these days maybe five or six (tongue in cheek).”
