To fans of BBC drama Casualty, actress Sammy T Dobson will be instantly recognisable as Nicole Piper. She appeared in the role just last year and has already had a whirlwind, both on and off screen.
The Geordie star, whose character in the show is a junior doctor, has captivated the nation since she first appeared in the long running show last March. Her character has taken on big storylines, leading to life-changing decisions.
Sammy, 38, once starred in hit children’s drama Byker Grove, but she’s still new to the limelight that Casualty brings, and while she’s been tackling hard-hitting storylines, from surrogacy to friendship struggles, her private life has also been transforming.

Just as Sammy’s role as Nicole Piper began in 2024, so did her new role at home – as a wife. The actress surprised fans back in June with a picture on her Instagram (@sammytinks) showing her walking down the aisle and the caption: “I got married yesterday. And it was magical.”
She went on: “Thank you so much to everyone who came and made it such a fun and joyous day. Thank you to everyone for all of their help in making it happen. And thank you to @chhappy for saying yes.”
