Benjamin Hollingsworth can’t wait for Virgin River fans to meet a brand-new Brady!Benjamin Hollingsworth in 'Virgin River'

While speaking during a Christmas Con panel moderated by PEOPLE’s Breanne L. Heldman, the actor, 40, teased what fans could expect from his character in Virgin River‘s highly anticipated sixth season.

“This season, Brady is a volunteer firefighter,” he mused, adding that fans will see him in a special uniform. “He’s kind of like Brady 2.0 so a little less bad boyish, although he’s still a bad boy.”

“A lot of twists and turns. A lot of cliffhangers. Um, again, steamy, spicy. I feel like it’s a 2024 thing and everyone’s turned up the heat a bit,” Hollingsworth added.

According to the actor, episode five will make Brady fans particularly happy.

“Fast forward to it, but once you’re there, yeah,” he teased.

In addition to Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) romantic springtime wedding, season six also “promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel’s father’s past which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s.”

Season 5 had been the most drama-packed season yet with tragedies hitting Virgin River, including a devastating wildfire and Mel and Jack suffering a miscarriage, along with the reveal of Mel’s biological father’s identity.

Virgin River season 6 — which premieres Dec. 19 — will pick up a few months after the two Christmas-themed episodes that closed out season 5 last year and take place “deeper into springtime,” showrunner Patrick Sean Smith told Netflix’s Tudum in November.

He also teased that fans will get to see Mel and Jack “advance on their path to parenthood while also turning Lilly’s (Lynda Boyd) farm into their ultimate dream home,” as they decided to buy the farm in the season 5 finale.

“Babies and wedding bells are never off the table on Virgin River,” Smith teased.
