Virgin River fans all agree on what show to binge-watch ahead of Season 7

Virgin River fans might have a while to wait until Season 7, but there’s one program they’ve been urged to watch in the meantime.

The Netflix show has proven to be a hit among fans, but the next installment is unlikely to air until next year. One distraught fan took to Reddit to share, “Help!!! I binged all 6 seasons in 2 weeks and now it feels like something is missing in my life. I loved my long calm afternoons sipping wine and watching the show.”

They asked other Virgin River fans for recommendations with the requirements it needed to be a “slow-burn” with “sensitive characters” and a good plot. They also wanted west coast scenery and “beautiful men.” People rushed to the comments to share their favorite shows, with Sullivan’s Crossing coming out on top.

One fan asked, “Have you seen Sullivan’s Crossing yet? It’s literally the same premise show, set in Nova Scotia, great storylines (brought me to tears a few times) and still a cozy show.”

They added, “The third season just finished airing and the first 2 seasons were just put on Netflix. 100/10 recommend to all virgin river fans!”

Another fan agreed, “I second this- and an additional season just dropped as well,” while a third person echoed, “Came here to say this!”

Someone else suggested some other shows, writing, “Sullivans Crossing, Sweet Magnoilias, and Hart of Dixie.” A fifth person posted, “Ransome canyon, Sullivan’s Crossing, Sweet Magnolias.”

Season 7 of Virgin River recently wrapped up filming, with members of the cast sharing behind-the-scenes pictures on social media. Dan Brady star Benjamin Hollingsworth posted a selfie alongside Season 5 newcomer Kandyse McClure, who plays Kaia Bryant.

Benjamin wrote, “First day of Summer and Last day of Filming Season 7 of Virgin River.” In the comments Kandyse added, “It was the best day!”

Zibby Allen, who plays Brie, also shared some touching photos with the cast. “VRS7 wrapped,” she wrote. “These lives within these lives…”

The new season is expected to see a big shake-up, with the filming location changing from Vancouver, Canada, to Mexico. Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith revealed to Netflix, “Season seven will find Mel and Jack taking their first steps into marriage as they start to plan for and build a life and family together.

“Meanwhile, Doc and Hope will work together to protect the clinic and the integrity of the town from outsiders.” This has left some fans speculating Mel and Jack might be the ones in Mexcio for their honeymoon.
