The wedding, which stretched across the final two episodes of Season 6 and took 16 days to film, was meticulously planned to deliver those signature “breath-hitching bits of romance.” This included Mel and Jack galloping by horseback to revisit their special spot by the river’s edge, echoing the start of their relationship, and a steamy post-ceremony scene in their cabin, described by Smith as his “ice sculpture.” Even the wardrobe had its moments, with Mel’s dress bustle causing Jack to trip during their first dance, and Breckenridge revealing she wore fleece-lined leggings under her gown for warmth – much to the surprise of onlookers who thought she was “running around naked” in Uggs!
