Kirsten Storms is addressing her General Hospital status after shocking fans with the news that she’s moving from Los Angeles to Nashville.Goin’ Country
In a video posted to Instagram Monday night, Storms, who recently celebrated her 20th anniversary as Maxie on GH, announced to her followers that she’s made a big move.

“I’m very excited to be making Tennessee my home!” Storms captioned the post, which received hundreds of comments within minutes.Throughout the video, Storms explained the process of moving while wanting to stay on GH. Referring to executive producer Frank Valentini, Storms said, “I had a conversation for him about my reasons for wanting to move… and my desire to not leave the show.”

The actress noted that many jobs like hers wouldn’t consent to a move and would most likely let the actor out of their contract, “but GH did not do that, which was kind of amazing.”Storms also revealed she asked for time off from GH to settle into her new home, and most likely wouldn’t return for the rest of the year. “The week before last week, I had my final taping day for the year,” she announced, noting the earliest she may return would be November or December.That means Maxie will most likely look a bit different for the coming months. Storms was recently temporarily recast with Nicole Paggi, who also filled in for Storms in 2023. Days of our Lives alums Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa) and Molly Burnett (ex-Melanie) also temporarily took on the role over the years.
