The Bold and the Beautiful Makes History with Its First Studio Move in 38 Years

The Bold and the Beautiful is heading toward a major shift this summer, and it’s unlike anything before. After nearly four decades at Television City, the iconic soap is packing up its stage and moving across town. Here’s everything you need to know about the historic change.

A Historic Move After 38 Years
Since debuting in 1987, The Bold and the Beautiful has filmed more than 9,600 episodes at Television City. That long-standing setup is now ending. According to Deadline, the show will officially begin production at Sunset Las Palmas Studios on August 19.

The relocation doesn’t mean B&B is leaving Los Angeles. The new studio sits just two and a half miles northeast of its current spot. But the emotional weight of leaving its original home still carries significance for longtime fans and cast members alike.

The move comes after CBS sold Television City to Hackman Capital Partners back in 2019. Although The Bold and the Beautiful continued leasing its stages, that lease is now expiring. Like other shows before it—such as The Price Is Right, which moved in 2023—B&B must now find a new home.

Bradley Bell, the show’s executive producer and head writer, acknowledged the emotional transition. He reflected on the 38 years spent crafting beloved storylines at Television City, calling the journey extraordinary. The team now looks forward to a new chapter at Sunset Las Palmas.

What Sunset Las Palmas Means for The Bold and the Beautiful
Sunset Las Palmas Studios is no stranger to television greatness. From its legacy architecture to modern facilities, the studio offers everything B&B needs to thrive in its next phase. Sean Griffin, SVP of Sales, expressed excitement over the show’s arrival.

He said the team is ready to deliver world-class service to the cast and crew. Griffin also noted that this move sends a powerful message. In a time when many productions are leaving California, B&B’s loyalty to LA marks a bold stand for the local entertainment industry.

Fans can rest easy knowing that the show isn’t going anywhere in terms of content. The Bold and the Beautiful has already been renewed through 2027 and 2028, which means the drama, fashion, and romance will keep coming.

The move to Sunset Las Palmas may be the end of an era, but it also begins a promising new one. Loyal viewers can expect the same high-quality storytelling—with a fresh spark from its updated backdrop. The Bold and the Beautiful continues to evolve, proving its legacy and future are both secure. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more updates on your favorite soap!
