5 Reasons Why The Bold and the Beautiful is Losing Viewers | Contract Ending in 2025

The Bold and the Beautiful has been losing viewers lately.

While we’ve identified the top five reasons many longtime fans are feeling pretty let down by the current storylines, there’s something even bigger you should know:
BNB’s contract with CBS is set to expire in 2025.

Could this actually be the final season?
We’ll get to that part at the end of the video.

But first, let’s break down the five main reasons why The Bold and the Beautiful just isn’t hitting the same way it used to.

Ridge, Brooke, and Taylor Drama
Let’s be real—this whole “who’s Ridge Forrester’s true destiny” saga between Brooke and Taylor has been dragged out way too long.
We’ve been watching this same love triangle ping-pong for literal decades, and it’s gotten beyond stale.

It’s the same recycled drama every year—Ridge flip-flopping between them like always.
Taylor, despite being a psychiatrist, acts like she skipped a few therapy sessions herself.

Her obsession with Ridge has been going strong since the ’90s and it’s honestly exhausting.
And Brooke? She’s stuck in that “please come home, Ridge” loop—crying and begging every time he walks out.

She loses all her dignity just to take him back again and again like clockwork.
Then she messes it up and the whole circus starts over.

If only Ridge would just find someone else and leave both of them, everyone would be happy.

Incestuous Pairings
Where do we even start with this one?
Bold and Beautiful has either lost its mind—or the character family tree chart.

Literally everyone is sleeping with their cousins, step-siblings, or even in-laws.

Finn and Poppy? She’s literally his aunt and he calls her Aunt Poppy.
Sure, they’re not blood-related—but that doesn’t make it okay.

Hope and Thomas? They’re on-again, off-again step-siblings thanks to their messed-up parents.

Steffy and Bill—when Steffy was married to Liam.

And Ridge? He’s basically hooked up with every woman and their sisters… and daughters.
Which means the whole town is now weirdly connected to each other.

BNB really needs to bring in new characters with different last names,
because at this rate, the whole town is headed for an incestuous downfall.

Every Story Is About Steffy
Steffy gets in the middle of everyone and everything.
Fans are now calling it The Steffy Show.

Anything related to Hope? She’s there.

Bill? She’s there.

Sheila? There.

Luna? Yep, still there.

Even in her own brother, mother, and father’s relationships.

And recently—even in what was supposed to be Liam’s storyline.
Fans were hoping it would be about Bill, Hope, or even Ivy.

But nope—we got Steffy again.
And why didn’t she even call Bill when Liam was in the hospital?

Sure, Steffy’s a main character.
But according to fans, she does not need to be in every single storyline.

Hope Going from One Man to the Next
Instead of giving Hope any real character growth, the writers just keep knocking her down.
She’s hopping from one guy to the next without any time to breathe.

First, they wrecked her marriage with Liam for Thomas.

Then they messed up her thing with Thomas too.

After that, she went after Finn…

Got with Carter…

And ended up looking like a manipulative mess who used him to get what she wanted—only to ruin that too.

And now, we’re probably heading back to her and Liam.

Honestly?
Instead of this constant man-hopping, we really hope the writers finally give Hope a storyline that actually shows who she is without a man.

Rebecca Budig as Taylor
Finally, we have Taylor’s latest recast—played by Rebecca Budig.

From the moment she appeared, fans have been calling it one of the worst casting choices ever.

Not only does she look more like Steffy’s sister than her mom,
but she’s completely missing that Taylor essence.

Some fans have even stopped watching because of it.
Many still think firing Krista Allen was a huge mistake.

It not only made fans turn against Taylor…
It also drove them away from the show entirely.

It’s definitely not the actor’s fault—
It’s just that the role doesn’t fit her, and fans can tell.

So… Has BNB Been Renewed or Cancelled?
The Bold and the Beautiful has officially got the green light once again!

The show has been renewed for three more seasons,
which means it’ll be rolling all the way through 2027 and 2028.
